Wie man e-girl schminkt: der ultimative Leitfaden

How to do e-girl makeup: the ultimate guide

of reading - words

An E girl, which literally means "electronic girl," is an avid internet user who typically uses platforms like YouTube, Twitch, or TikTok. This trend started in 2010 and is similar to the looks of Tumblr girls. Many E-girls are passionate about digital content, anime, manga, and the video game industry/culture.

With this strong appeal, it has evolved over time into a subculture of bold, edgy and "kawaii" cute styles that encompasses almost anything that has a slight inspiration from emo, punk, cosplay or anime. Fictional characters such as Ramona Flowers, Harley Quinn and Sailor Moon have had a major influence on its evolution into what it is today.

Many E girls dye their hair, have piercings, and love to layer their clothing, similar to Japanese street fashion and K-pop fashion . Kayla Marci of Edited described E-girl as an evolution of emo, scene, mall goth, and influenced by Asian fashion. She cited Avril Lavigne as the original start of what we now know as the current E girl. (Wikipedia). This now ranges from Billie Eilish's grunge, cyberpunk aesthetic to the babydoll, sugar cake style of Belle Delphine.

In terms of beauty - makeup application usually includes a well-framed eye, bold lashes, striking eye or face makeup, dramatic eyeliner, lots of blush, plumped lips and fake freckles.

The overall vibe? A body-positive, self-expressive, powerful edginess. It's this "I don't care" attitude of not being swayed by society's expectations that easily transformed this trend into a true beauty look we know and love today!

1) Why should you try the E girl aesthetic?

Incorporating a new fashion style, trying new makeup techniques, or sporting new hairstyles is a great way to boost your confidence and show how creative you can be! By being your own version of an E girl, you can express yourself in a unique and authentic way.

One reason I fell in love with this look is the way it highlighted features of my face that I didn't even know I liked! It makes your face look more youthful, your eyes appear larger, and your skin feel tighter.

If you are thinking about becoming an e-girl, here are some useful tips:

Invest in some fun wigs that change up your style and a color you'd love to try! They're not permanent, which allows you to express yourself freely and not make a long-term commitment.

Step out of your comfort zone and boost your confidence. Trying new products, techniques and outfits can be scary. But as the saying goes, "Don't judge until you try it!" So, let go and have fun!

Take photos or videos of yourself. I know this can be hard if you're not already in the habit of doing this for yourself, but it's a great way to love yourself and show the world your adventurous spirit! You might even find that you want to create a YouTube channel, a Tiktok page, or even a Twitch persona!

2) E-girl inspiration and ideas

Start researching and creating your niche, pay attention to what inspires you and what resonates with you. Does Japanese or Korean fashion influence you? What kind of personality and feeling do you want to embody?

5) More E girl style

5.1) Peachy Cute

Peach tones are an easy way to achieve a bright, daytime appropriate look without going too extreme in color. Add accents of accessories, eyeliner icons on the cheeks, and thick winged eyeliner to embrace everything it means to be an E girl!

5.2) Fresh & Adorable

When you go for the "Fresh" style, you basically apply little to no colored products and more neutral shades on the face. Achieve the "lovable" factor by adding long eyelashes, thick freckles, and plump coral lips.

5.3) Glam E-girl

This is a more elevated E girl style. Neat. Subdued. And sensual; that's what the theme represents. It's a perfect way to get into the E girl world if you're 30 or older and want to look natural too. Use the same blush on your nose and cheeks as you did on your eyes. Overline your lips and use a light, soft pink for your lipstick.

5.4) Seeing Double

Using two eyeshadows, one for each eye, is a really fun way to express color! Think of complementary colors that will visually work well next to each other. Add a similar lip shade or a neutral pink to complete the face.

This brings us perfectly to our next topic…

5.5) Modern Jester

Usually the E girl funky look leans a bit more towards cosplay or gothic. Inspiration comes from the fun, playful look of Harley Quinn or a scary/spooky feel. Smudge the black eyeliner on the bottom of the eyes or get more playful like in this photo with colors and colored contact lenses!

5.6) Cosplay Take (Cosplay version)

I had to show these two beautiful variations on how to take the E girl to a cosplay-inspired next level. The best part? Make it your own. Whether it's a more natural version of Margot Robbie's take on Harley, or your love for anime like Juuzou Suzuya, there's a

5.7) Complex wings

This will take a bit of practice, but what in life doesn't? Creating complex, graphic wings can be the centerpiece of your e-girl look. Add the signature rosy cheeks and nose blush, fake freckles, and exaggerated lips.

5.8) Important Egirl Characteristics

Heavy, bold or stylistic eyeliner

Egirl eyeliner is one of the most effective things you can learn or adopt for other makeup styles.

5.9) Artificial eyelashes

  • Faux freckles
  • Cheek stamps, drawn hearts, stars, dots or other symbols
  • Rosy blush
  • Dramatic highlights or half-colored hair
  • Dyed hair or wigs
  • Soft or bold lip color
  • Blurred or rounded Cupid’s bow lips
  • Collars, chains and buckle belts
  • Pastel tones, neon mixed with black
  • Checkered, stripes, pattern
  • Graphic T-Shirts
  • Fishnet tights or sleeves
  • Chunky boots
  • Plasters and facial accessories
  • Funny Hair Berets

6) What colors go best with egirl makeup?

Because there are so many different colors of E girl makeup , there is no definitive answer as to what colors are best to embody the Egirl life (especially if it's an expression of you!). However, there are main color components that can be seen in the overall look.

7) How to choose the right colors

The best thing about this look is that the application of eye shadow is very minimal. The focus of the eyes is always on the "frame", which refers to the eyelid eyeliner (usually liquid black with a wing) and large lashes.

When looking at your eyeshadow kit, think about the basic shades mentioned above and don't hesitate to use this spectrum when choosing your eyeshadow color. What tone will reflect the mood or feeling you want to convey that day?

If you're feeling more natural, use lighter or brighter tones. If you're feeling bold and daring, go smoky and deep! Some of my favorite eyeshadow palettes that have the perfect range are: Here are the colors I would recommend for double application on cheeks and eyes:

Here you have great colors to use as a base, to clean up the eye and to highlight the other eyeshadows on the eyelid. Use Vermeer to accentuate the inner corner of the eye, nose and cheeks.

Then use these colors to shade and define the eyelid:

Frequently asked questions about becoming an egirl

Q: What makeup do I need to be an e-girl?

You will need a thin brush for your blusher to easily apply it on your cheeks and nose, a palette of colored eyeshadows that you can use for different purposes on your cheeks and eyes, a natural eyebrow pencil and eyebrow gel, a natural matte foundation, setting powder, lip liner and lipstick.

Q: How can I make myself look like an e-girl?

Wear lots of black and pink on your face and body. Wear ripped stockings or fishnets. Wear plaid or pleated skirts, Doc Martens, platform boots, crop tops, graphic t-shirts layered over long-sleeved striped t-shirts, and hoodies. If you want to accentuate the sides of the nose, use a thinner brush with the same color as the blush to accentuate the sides. Apply a shimmery luminous to the tip and bridge of the nose to lift the nose!

Using a fine-tipped liquid black eyeliner, draw a line along the lower lash line. These lines can range from small, delicate lash lines to bold, inverted triangle shapes for a more dramatic look.

Q: How is E girl eyeliner made?

Start with thin, even lines of eyeliner on the upper eyelids closest to the lash line. Once they are even, trace the wings by applying the eyeliner halfway up the original line and then angle the brush upwards towards the temples. Stop where you want the wing tip to end and then bring the line together towards the end of the eye. Fill in the ">" shape and voilà! You have a thick and big wing eyeliner!
